A mad-cap Afrikaans comedy set in a small town on the platteland. The plot revolves around a dog, and a diamond, and the assorted people who would like very much to get their hands on that diamond....

The greatest feature to emerge thus far from South Africa (since 1994) is Katinka Heyns's Paljas. The narrative occurs in the 1960s, when poverty amongst Afrikaners was a serious problem and the South African Railway a key mechanism in Afrikaner affirmative action. This excellent Afrikaans language drama follows the deterioration of an Afrikaner family isolated and shunned in the small community of Toorwater. Nothing seems to happen. Then a circus train loses its way and comes to rest in Toorwater, and a mysterious clown brings fresh magic to the stagnating family, but he also poses a threat to the rest of the community. Heyns brilliantly succeeds in creating a metaphor for the Afrikaner family's turbulent emotional, cultural and ideological journey from the darkness of apartheid back into the light of post-apartheid reconciliation (famililial, cultural and political)....

We go on vacation to Margate with the van Tonder Family. Hendrik wants to go fishing, the kids swim and play Yollie and Maggie wants to sunbathe and Ouboet has a self built modded speedboat (Spuitpoep II) which he wants to test out at sea. Their dream vacation gets sabotaged by a Joburg company, who wants to buy the caravan park where they are vacationing to demolish it and build a shopping mall. But then they get to deal with the van Tonders who doesn't let anyone mess with them. Hillarious from beginning to end....

After many years, Kandas (Ryno Hattingh), literally runs into his primary school sweetheart, Kiepie (Debbie Labuschagne), on the university campus. Immediately, the spark between them is back! However, Kiepie is engaged to a bright young lawyer (Mieder Olivier), who drags Kandas to court over an accident....

The Unitas u/21 rugby team hero, Wimpie Koekemoer, is offered a contract to play rugby in England. Katrien rehearses a play with autistic children, while doing everything in her power to keep Wimpie in the country. Fanie is struggling to get used to Christie's post-high school chubby body and Japie is experiencing a very embarrassing problem in his sexual pursuit of Liezl... One of the earliest exploitation films from South Africa, directed and produced by independent film maker Pierre D. Botha. This is a classic example of a ‘restless youth’ film. The action takes place in Johannesburg (The Godless city of the title) and focuses on the youth sub culture of the ‘Ducktails’ (“a white youth gang subculture which emerged within post Second World War South Africa. Rebellious, hedonistic, apolitical and showing little respect for the law, education or work”)....
