If we lived in the world of cinema, could flowers blossom without withering?...

Perrone switches back to color and chooses European painting as the space for his tale and as his land of experimentation. The stage: paintings by Manet, Monet, Renoir, among other chosen artists; still, open-air landscapes put together through their similarities. The characters who move there: two men, two women, two hunters, two ominous creatures (one of them a tiny creature of the night with two eyes and a brutish and wild human body). Divided in 18 acts, the narrative of this film is limited to showing brief episodes about desire and violence as the fuel of human endeavors, while its characters roam in the woods. With no words at all, Perrone wagers all on the juxtaposition of textures, on superimpositions, and on the power of face close-ups – these are his main arguments....

"This installation piece explores the forewarning signs which occur before a defining event taking place. It develops through a mixture of documentary and scripted footages of my father, with texts related to my memory of him mixed into it. Since the Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster of 2011, I have felt that the people of Japan are now forced to live more consciously of the forewarning signs before an incident. This feels as if it’s universally bearing over general social issues as well as miniscule personal level incidents. I decided to feature my own father in this video piece filmed in the style of a fictional documentation. This is all bout Drinking, and weakness." -UMMMI....

On an overcast day late in the summer of 1966, Syd first tripped on mushrooms while film student/friend Nigel Gordon captured the event on 8mm film. This marked a major turning in Syd's life; The man that entered the Gog Magog hills that day would not be the same entity that returned....

TRAUMA is a collaborative film project by Jesse Kanda and Arca first partially exhibited at MoMA PS1 at the end of 2013. The film follows a nonlinear narrative about the death of a salaryman, a drunk driving infant and takes place within a subconscious world. TRAUMA's score will span through Arca's existing and future works....
